About me
I am a husband and a dad, and in my spare time, I'm a musician and songwriter.
My Story
My story is that I came to London at 20 years of age to pursue my dream of becoming a professional rock musician. After achieving some success for a few years in the early to mid-'90s, the dream came to an end, and I had to get a 'proper job' to support myself financially. Quite randomly, I landed a job at a drug addiction clinic in south London. The clinic's patients came from all walks of life, but being the Brit-pop era when heroin was considered a hip drug to take, not unsurprisingly, there was a plethora of professional musicians and music industry people seeking help there. Because of my musical background and natural empathy for this group of patients, I was given the job of coordinating their treatment and supporting them through the process of recovery. This later extended to non-music industry patients, and gradually - after a brief academic diversion into the world of art - my musical creativity settled into a pastime activity that continued to give me great pleasure, and counselling became my career ambition.
I continue to work in addiction, and now my training as a psychotherapist allows me to work people with all sorts of issues, as well as to help those recovering from addiction with a deeper knowledge and experience of the issues that underlie their substance use.
